Former National Football League safety and kick returner Brandon Wilson and former sports broadcast journalist Rashad Johnson have joined the Louisiana-based advisory firm WFA. They will provide financial education to young athletes who are pursuing professional careers.
Wilson played for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2017 through 2022, though injuries kept him sidelined for most of the 2021 and 2022 seasons. As a reporter and on-air anchor, Johnson is the former head of the KSLA News 12 sports department in Shreveport, Louisiana, where WFA is based.
“I’ve never shied away from a challenge in my life or playing career; I’m approaching my new position at WFA with the same mindset,” Wilson said in a release. “When I got my first paycheck as a professional athlete, I was severely underprepared. I had no plan. I want to be able to educate others who will follow in my footsteps so they don’t make the same mistakes I did.”
