The Songs of Love Foundation, which creates personalized original songs for children and teens facing medical, physical, or emotional challenges, received a pledge to match up to $5 million toward its $10 million endowment campaign from philanthropists Leon and Toby Cooperman through their family foundation.
The couple previously made a $1 million donation to the foundation.
The Songs of Love Foundation has composed and recorded more than 41,000 personalized songs — some with the help of music legends like Billy Joel, Joan Osborne and Michael Bolton — for recipients in over 500 hospitals and health care facilities across the country.
