William Maslovsky has been named chief investment officer of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, according to a Monday news release.
Maslovsky, who joined the foundation in 2016 and most recently served as managing director of investments, began the new role Sept. 18. He is now responsible for designing and executing the investment strategy for the foundation’s $2 billion endowment.
Before joining the foundation, Maslovsky worked at Morris Associates, where he most recently was a partner overseeing the global investment portfolio.
Maslovsky succeeded Elizabeth Hewitt, who joined the foundation in November 2015 and took over for retired predecessor William Petersen. After leaving the foundation Sept. 17, Hewitt now serves as chief investment officer of Miras Investments.
The foundation plans to fill Maslovsky's previous position, but the exact title and responsibilities have not been determined, a spokesperson for the Sloan Foundation said in an email.
