Hello, my name is Kristen Oliveri, and I am the newly appointed editor at Crain Currency. This role is a special one to me, as it marks my return to my roots as a journalist covering a specific beat —family offices.
I began my career in 2007 at Institutional Investor as a beat reporter for a publication called Private Asset Management, where I learned all about the nuances of private banks, wealth management firms and family offices. I knew nothing about finance, let alone wealth management. But thanks to good old-fashioned source development and several key mentors, I learned the business.
Since then, I’ve spent the past 17 years solely focused on the space. I’ve become an expert, gaining additional skills along the way. I’ve edited publications; I’ve had a women-and-wealth column; curated high-touch, family-office-only events; programmed wealth management conferences; launched video interview coverage; and worked with sales, marketing and social media experts to curate the right messaging for today’s reader.
Throughout it all, I’ve always stayed true to the family-office space because of the people. I’ve met the most interesting, intelligent, mission-driven people who are using their wealth to create change in our world.
I hope to use this experience and expertise to create content that matters to our community.
I am a believer in relationships and collaboration. In this role, I will grow our family-office audience through great content and work to curate a diverse advisory board filled with industry heavy hitters.
Please feel free to reach out. I want to hear from you about the stories you want to see, the people you want to hear more from and identify those advisory board members who can help us execute our vision for Crain Currency. Reach out at [email protected].
I am very pleased to be here, and I am excited for what lies ahead.
