The multi-family office Beatrice Advisors is expanding its investment team with Peter Lupoff and Mervin Burton joining the firm as senior partners.
Lupoff has managed his family investment and grant-making business, the Lupoff/Stevens Family Office, whose majority of operations will fold into Beatrice Advisors. As an investments and partnerships partner at Beatrice, Lupoff will focus on business development and client engagement.
Burton will provide investment research involving asset allocation for Beatrice clients, portfolio manager selection and risk management. His previous roles have included being the director of investments at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania; senior investment manager for IBM Corp.’s pension fund; and managing director of the Carnegie Corp. of New York.
New York-based Beatrice Advisors was launched in 2024 by Christina Lewis, who also maintains BFO21 as her single-family office. She is the daughter of Loida Nicole Lewis and Reginald F. Lewis, who is known as the first African American to close a billion-dollar leveraged buyout deal with his purchase of TLC Beatrice International in the 1980s.
“Beatrice’s focus on assessing the full financial picture, from near-term obligations to multigenerational needs, helps clients build robust portfolios and aligned outcomes,” Burton said in a statement. “I look forward to joining this effort and working with a strong team of professionals dedicated to values and excellence.”
