Greg Tanner, a finance executive who previously worked at Bridgewater Associates and BlackRock, has joined the wealth advisory firm Align Impact as its COO.
Tanner now oversees all operational aspects of Align Impact, including client and corporate operations, financial management, compliance and technology. He is Align Impact’s third recent senior hire, following chief investment officer Matthew Weatherley-White and chief of staff Winter Wall.
Tanner was head of operations at the hedge fund Bridgewater, where he worked from 1996 to 2010, and held senior positions at both BlackRock and iCapital. Tanner is currently pursuing a doctorate from Fairfield University, where he is an adjunct professor of management.
“Align has been a leader in the financial advisory space and impact since its early days. [CEO Jenn Kenning] was very astute about changing dynamics in the marketplace long before others, recognizing the possibility to drive impact at scale,” Tanner said. “What’s exciting to me is that the broader investment community is now coming around to Align’s worldview about the promise of impact investing.”
