It’s not every day you get to interview a presidential candidate.
Last week, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jason Palmer at the Activist Investor Conference in New York City, where this venture capitalist running for president spoke with me about two important concepts: conscious capitalism and common sense.
Palmer is no stranger to the ultra-high-net-worth world, working frequently with family offices in the VC realm and having once worked for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Given his experiences in the financial realm and now in the political one (He did defeat President Biden in American Samoa), while we were talking, he announced the launch of his latest initiative coined TOGETHER!
Palmer has teamed up with Silicon Valley venture capitalist and bestselling author Deborah Perry Piscione and political commentator and leadership expert Kwame Jackson to create what he calls a “political movement to steer America away from polarization by mobilizing young American voters to elect a new generation of common-sense leaders from all political backgrounds.”
TOGETHER! will consist of two organizations: one being a public-benefit corporation that will increase voter registration and political engagement and the other a PAC, a fundraising vehicle that operates like an index fund to support rising congressional and state-level candidates.
Palmer and his partners have this to say about the launch: “TOGETHER! isn't just a PAC, a technology platform or an organization. It's a movement. It represents a fusion of networking capabilities and social capital with the urgent need for political reform. We will bridge polarized political factions by promoting common values, common sense and common purpose.”
I’ll be watching closely to see the impact that TOGETHER! makes on American politics and our society at large.
