Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Samir Subberwal, a 30-year veteran of the bank, to lead its Global Wealth Management, Deposits & Mortgages division.
Subberwal, who joined the bank in 1994, previously led various other divisions. They include consumer, private and business banking Asia; head of retail banking, greater China and north Asia; country head of retail banking Hong Kong and alternative CEO Hong Kong; head of integrated distribution for Hong Kong and greater China; and group head of branch performance management and governance.
He takes over from Marc van de Walle, who joined Standard Chartered four years ago after a long stint at the Bank of Singapore and, previously, at ING Bank.
