As part of its focus on its ultra-high-net-worth clients, Citi Private Bank seeks to “bolster its capabilities” by making a number of high-profile hires in recent weeks, including this week's announcement that Richard Weintraub will becoome head of the Family Office Group, Americas. Weintraub, who starts May 7, previously worked with family office clients at UBS’ Global Family & Institutional Wealth team.
In recent weeks, the bank has hired Don Plaus as head of Citi Private Bank, North America; and Antonio Gonzales as head of Citi Private Bank, Latin America; and promoted Frederic Viaud the new head of its France business.
In an internal memo, Ida Liu, global head of Citi Private Bank, and Hannes Hofmann, head of Citi's family office group, said that with the hires, “we are building upon the strengths of our Global Family Office (GFO) group by bolstering our capabilities and attracting the best talent.”
They added: “Richard brings a deep understanding of the family office industry, strong relationships and a proven capability to deliver institutional solutions to family offices.”
