The Family Office at Synovus has named Walt Deriso CEO and Hamilton Hilsman president to lead the firm’s banking and advisory services to ultra-high-net-worth families.
Synovus Bank is headquartered in Georgia with branches in Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee. Its family office division was founded in 1947 and maintains 45 team members who help oversee $11 billion in client assets under administration.
Deriso joined Synovus in 1999 and most recently was the bank’s senior vice president and director of strategic growth and family office solutions. He also is part of The UHNW Institute’s Leaders Council.
Deriso will report to Wayne Akins, the executive vice president and chief community banking and wealth services officer at Synovus.
Hilsman, who will report to Deriso, has spent 28 years at Synovus, including the past 20 years within its family office division. He joined The Family Office at Synovus in 2004 as a relationship manager and was named a director in 2007.
