A love affair with northern Michigan that started two years ago with the acquisition of a family-owned ferry service serving an island in the Great Lakes has steadily expanded into other sectors and could inspire a Florida family to pursue more Michigan deals.

One of the four homes in Kalamazoo, Michigan, designed by the architect is on the market for $790,000 in a deal that includes original furnishings and blueprints.
