Can’t make it to the auction? Now, you can go to the store.
Sotheby’s just opened its first ultra-luxury retail outlet, offering a cross-section of items from luxury brands. Of course, it also includes some collectibles, such as “The Last Dance” game-worn Michael Jordan jersey (estimate of $1 million to 2 million) from the 1998 NBA playoffs.
The Sotheby’s Salon at Bucherer is on the third floor of Bucherer’s Zurich flagship store at Bahnhofstrasse 50.
The 160-square-meter space features jewelry, watches, handbags, accessories, sneakers and high-end streetwear, artworks and sports memorabilia. At the heart of the store is a custom-designed wine and spirits bar with a selection curated by Sotheby’s master of wine, Vanessa Conlin.
“Our shared vision was to create an experience that brought clients together to celebrate the joy of collecting and to expand their knowledge,” said Josh Pullan, head of Sotheby’s Global Luxury Division.
