Sotheby’s will feature jewelry from the collection of TV legend Mary Tyler M oore as part of its Magnificent Jewels and Fine Jewels auctions in New York this December.

The collection features a range of jewels — from “sparkling old mine-cut diamonds to lustrous pearls to the rich warmth of 18K gold pieces by Van Cleef & Arpels,” said Frank Everett, vice chairman of Sotheby’s Jewelry.

“Mary’s jewels mirror the style of the beloved, modern characters she portrayed on screen."

Proceeds will benefit the Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative, a nonprofit that seeks to preserve and restore vision in people with diabetes.

Highlights from the collection traveled to Los Angeles this week, before returning to New York for public exhibition beginning Dec. 1.
