Ritz-Carlton properties prepare art activations for Art Basel
The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, Miami and The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach are turning their attention to female artists for special activations during Art Basel Miami Beach, taking place the week of Dec. 2.
The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach — owned by the Ben-Josef, Lowenstein and Kanavos families — has long been dedicated to preserving the legacy of this iconic property and supporting the arts. In collaboration with nonprofit organizations, the families curate annual public art exhibitions during Miami’s Art Week.
This year, the property will showcase an installation by award-winning artist Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya. Her site-specific sculpture, "As Her Hands Move, Her Heart Beats in the Rhythm of Monsoons," will debut Dec. 3. The piece celebrates matrilineal legacies and cultural wisdom, embodying the essence of the hotel’s “Women in the Spotlight” series and reinforcing its commitment to amplifying female voices in the arts.
Meanwhile, The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, Miami is partnering with Jiggy Puzzles, the female-founded company that gained recognition on “Shark Tank” for redefining the art world. From Dec. 3 through 8, guests can immerse themselves in a pop-up gallery where puzzle art comes to life, featuring works by nine female artists from Jiggy's curated roster.
