The fall art season in New York kicks off with a bang with the celebrated Art on Paper fair returning to Pier 36 from Sept. 7 to 10, coinciding with Armory Arts Week.
This year's fair features over 100 leading galleries, each of which is devoted to paper-based art, and a program that includes special projects, hands-on experiences and installations.
Under the leadership of new creative director Nato Thompson, who has curated shows at Creative Time and Mass MoCA, the show promises to celebrate "the versatility and expressive prowess of paper as a medium."
One of the highlights will be a book fair, in collaboration with the Center for Book Arts, that will feature artists' books in all their variety, as physical objects and conceptual works.
